- It is with great pleasure that I formally accept your invitation to be patron of Malaika Kids. This acceptance is a recognition by myself and the High Commission of Tanzania of the noble work Malaika Kids is doing for the under privileged children in Tanzania.
Running for Malaika Kids
| Three ladies from MSc11 at the London Business School, who have given so much time to Malaika Kids UK, were joined by three supporters to form the Malaika Kids team in the Hydro Active Women's Challenge 5km race in Hyde Park on Sunday 16 September 2007. | ||
| On a beautiful, if a bit windy, day the team completed the course amidst 16,000 competitors, each supporting their favourite charity. Broadcast on BBC TV and won by world record holder and Olympic champion Meseret Defar from Ethopia, the Malaika Kids team did exceptionally well with one top 100 placing and numerous personal bests. | ||
| But time is not important, participation is and we hope that the team will be twice as big next year! Having been awarded their finishers medals, a well-earned picnic by the lake rounded off the event. Thank you to all who sponsored the team - and it isn't too late to do so now!
