Relatives Support Programme successful
| Our strategy of searching for surviving relatives who can bring kids up in a full home environment is proving very successful. The children are passed to us by the Social Welfare Department with such little information as can be obtained from a short interview with the children themselves. Armed with this sketchy data, Mama K and her team research on the ground in the area the kids come from (mostly the Kinondoni district of Dar es Salaam), and also use the ITV television channel to appeal for relatives. By such detailed means we now have 16 orphans in our long term, Relatives Support Programme. | ||
