Message from our Patron
It is with great pleasure that I formally accept your invitation to be patron of Malaika Kids. This acceptance is a recognition by myself and the High Commission of Tanzania of the noble work Malaika Kids is doing for the under privileged children in Tanzania.

First UK Container for Tanzania

First UK Container heads off for Mkuranga
.

Our first UK container is on its way to Mkuranga. We need to get our management mobile, so we have bought a rugged, and rather unusual, second hand Land Rover Feeelander van. St Joseph's Primary School in London raised the money for a trailer; a heavy duty, 4 wheel Ifor Williams, which will be used to transport building materials to site. (Thanks to Parkway Commercials of Hayes and TH White of Reading for their support in supplying these).

We also collected over 1000 reading books to start a library, the redundant laundry from hotels in a Swiss village, several bikes, a power saw and a trolley to transport the cooking pots from the central kitchen to the dining hall.
The remaining space in the 40 footer was taken by recycled school furniture organised by Education for All, the UK charity, from their massive warehouse in Corby, Northamtonshire.

We were amazed how every inch of space was filled, and so over 200 chairs, 80 desks, numerous cupboards and the bookshelves for the library are all now on their way. This material will be immensely useful in the new Village, where currently they have very little
