- It is with great pleasure that I formally accept your invitation to be patron of Malaika Kids. This acceptance is a recognition by myself and the High Commission of Tanzania of the noble work Malaika Kids is doing for the under privileged children in Tanzania.
Running to Harris for Haris!
| Runner and mountaineer Ed Lemon set off on Sat 26th June to run 10 consecutive marathons for THE HARIS AHMED MEMORIAL to reach the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Haris (21) was killed on his bike by a tipper truck in London in March. After all their adventures together, Ed decided on one more in his memory - and to raise funds for Haris's Memorial Building at his favourite charity: Malaika Kids. |

| Taking advantage of long daylight hours, Ed, a student at St Andrews, and long time friend of Haris Ahmed, will be taking the cross-mountain route through the Highlands as far as Uig in Skye. He writes: 'from here I am looking into sea-kayaking the 30 mile sea to reach the island. If this proves impossible I may have to get the ferry. > Here is my schedule: > > Day 1 (Sat 26th) St Andrews to Bridge of Earn > Day 2 (Sun 27th) Bridge of Earn to Comrie > Day 3 (Mon 28th) Comrie to Loch Lubhair > Day 4 (Tues 29th) Loch Lubhair to Lagangarbh > Day 5 (Wed 30th) Lagangarbh to Gairlochy (via Fort William) > Day 6 (Thurs 1st) Gairlochy to Loch Cluanie > Day 7 (Fri 2nd) Loch Cluanie to Balmacara > Day 8 (Sat 3rd) Balmacara to Sconser (Skye) > Day 9 (Sun 4th) Sconser to Uig > Day 10 (Mon 5th) Uig to Isle of Harris |

| I have a small support team who will cook for me and meet me to give me food. Not really sure how fast I am going to do it. I have to go faster on Sunday so I can catch the England game! | ||
