Amina Rodvick Mwenda, 12 years old

Amina's mother died from Aids in 2003 an a couple of months later her father died too. Amina stayed with her older sister Patricia in Kolasa -in the neighbourhood of Morogoro-. Patricia tried for about a year to look after both herself and her sister, but combining the roles of housegirl and carer proved too much for her. Desperate, Patricia asked the government to help Amina. From mid June 2004 Amina found a home with Malaika Kids. School: Class 5 Likes in School: Science and English Wants to be when grows up: Teacher Likes to play ball with the other kids and help with the cooking.
