Message from our Patron
It is with great pleasure that I formally accept your invitation to be patron of Malaika Kids. This acceptance is a recognition by myself and the High Commission of Tanzania of the noble work Malaika Kids is doing for the under privileged children in Tanzania.

The building in phases

In addition to the running costs of the children’s home in Dar es Salaam and the Relative Support Program, Malaika Kids started in early 2006 with fund raising for building the first phase of the children’s village. After purchasing the land in the middle of 2006, we worked on the specifications for the infrastructure, the water provision and the first four family houses (40 children).
More on the building phases
To realise this first phase an amount of 137.000 pounds was budgeted (85.000 for the cluster and 52.000 for site preparation and infrastructure). This amount is excluding running costs which are estimated at a total of 72.000 pounds for the first five years.

In July 2010 the first phase of the village was openen. 4 famlily houses, a school and several general buildings are now operational. Preparations for the construction of the second phase are on their way.
