Message from our Patron
It is with great pleasure that I formally accept your invitation to be patron of Malaika Kids. This acceptance is a recognition by myself and the High Commission of Tanzania of the noble work Malaika Kids is doing for the under privileged children in Tanzania.

Trustees

Nigel Fawkes - Chairman Malaika Kids UK
Nigel is a businessman with extensive international experience and is a director of a number of companies in the natural health products industry. He is a German and French speaker and has travelled widely. His management and marketing skills are well employed by the task of developing the Malaika Kids project and coordinating with the international Malaika Kids organisations. He lives in London and is married with two grown up children.
Emile Farhi - Treasurer and Trustee Malaika Kids UK
Emile is a founder member of Malaika Kids UK and has broad experience in finance, following over 20 years' work in the City of London and in the US, where he has been a director of several major companies. He was born in Africa and speaks French, Italian and Spanish, which he now uses actively in running his own import/export business. He is also a key member of a UK charity for the elderly and travels regularly to developing countries from his home in London.
David Murray - Secretary and Trustee Malaika Kids UK
David is a founder member of Malaika Kids UK and has some 30 years of experience as an expert in asset and project finance, and financial modelling involving airports, property, railways and films. His 'loves' include science & technology, literature, history, philosophy, photography and Liverpool F.C. He runs his own business (property management and advisory work), is married with two grown up children and lives in Surrey.
Ton Willemsen - Trustee Malaika Kids UK
After graduating with degrees in Physical Engineering and in Business Studies, Ton worked for over 25 years in a broad range of sectors of Industry internationally as director or CEO. Currently he is a non executive director on various company boards. In addition he is active in many extra curricular activities concerning sport, innovation, education and is one of the founders of the International Malaika Kids network. Ton is also Chairman of Malaika Kids Netherlands. He has a grown up son and daughter and lives with his English wife in The Hague.
Helen Marriage - Trustee Malaika Kids UK
After an early career in magazine publishing, Helen has been involved with the family grain business. She has worked with a number of charities and other voluntary organisations and until recently was an Associate Convener evaluating complaints for Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust. Helen is married with three student aged children and lives in Essex.
Frank Rosa - Trustee Malaika Kids UK
Frank is a senior executive with a large multinational food company. Chairman or Director of several of its subsidiaries, he is responsible for the Middle East and African businesses. He has lived in the US, Asia, Latin America and Europe and is now based in London with his wife and family. He travels to Africa every month.
Pam Mitchell - Founder member of the 'Friends of Malaika'
Pam is supporting the charity's fund raising efforts. She has nearly 30 years experience of consulting in business and marketing strategy, mostly running her own consultancy. As well as Malaika, Pam is experienced in several charitable initiatives in the UK, Nepal and the Philippines. She has three teenage sons and lives in London
Martin Stoll - Founder member of the 'Friends of Malaika'
Martin is a Research Director in a major international market research agency. Based in the UK, he has extensive experience of working for commercial, government and not-for-profit organisations in Europe and worldwide. Martin and his wife live in London with two grown up children and one teenager.
Alan Edwards - UK Committee member
Alan is responsible for interns and organisation development. He spent 25 years in senior positions with Ford Motor Company, latterly as the Business Strategy Director for Ford of Europe. He left Ford to set up the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority on behalf of the UK Government.
